Vintage Modern

When I tell people I am an Interior Designer, they always ask what kind of style I design. My response is “A good designer can design any style”. I design any style combined with a KG Interior twist however, I do have a style of my own. Here is my master bedroom I recently redesigned. I still need to find/ build a second nightstand, along with hanging the other lamp. I will also be adding a few decorative elements such as pictures and a decorative TV frame. We just put our house on the market so I may be adding the finishing touches in a new master bedroom.

Refinshed this vintage dressing table I picked up for $90.

A pair of KG Interiors canvas paintings hung on either side of the bed.

Instead of spending a few thousand on a new bed, I reconstructed my old bed frame for less than $100! The great thing about refinishing furniture is that it is completely custom. Since my master is small I cut of the foot board to give the appearance of more space.

Replaced the ceiling fan with a beautiful modern drum light.

After the completion of my children's backgrounds for Freeland Photography I thought it would look amazing to incorporate a wood wall as a background for my bed. I found some old weathered wood fence boards that were perfect. The before picture is of the wall before I applied a white wash over it. White washing it fit my design perfectly however it would look  awesome untouched in other designs.

I replaced the sliding doors with bi-fold panel doors.

By replacing the sliding doors with the bi-fold doors it allowed me to make create a custom shelving unit which doubled my closet space. I no longer needed a large dresser, making the room more spacious.

Tradional with a POP

After the completion of my "Tradional with a Twist" design we moved on to the home owner's living room. It was beautiful already however it needed some pop of color to make the space shine. The fireplace was very dark and by replacing the tile and adding brighter pops of color the eye is now drawn to this gorgeous focal point. After the new tile was installed the homeowner could not believe how much bigger the space appeared. I created the perfectly scaled art piece to display over the fireplace and the two smaller paintings on the wall.
I love the way it turned out!!!

Traditional with a Twist

A beautiful traditional design combined with modern aspects.
My apologizes for not having before pictures for this design. Everything with the exception of the furniture is new however I did replace the pulls and knobs on all the dressers to update the pieces.

Long modern drapes accentuates the height of this gorgeous space.

A plush textured rug  provides the hardwood floors with warmth.

Stunning grass cloth in neutral tones was hung to create a beautiful focal wall.

Adding new pulls updated the existing furniture.
Placing large over-sized modern lamps on the traditional styled bedside tables
provided the perfect balance.

Replaced the ceiling fan with this elegant chandelier.

Combined a rich luxuries comforter with a modern quilt creating a custom bed set.

Adorable, fun pillows combined with a modern floral print pillow
gives the bed some spunk!

Reconstructed a Hobby Lobby frame to create a one of a kind TV frame.

Covered the TV components with a custom rattan box.

A modern piece of art paired with two framed paintings created by
KG Interiors and homeowners niece gives the space a personal feel.
