Elegant Family Background

Since my kid's backgrounds and the waiting area just for the little ones' at Freeland Photography were such a big hit, I was asked back to create two elegant family backgrounds. Here is my first background… a neutral tone-on-tone scene that is timeless.

A oversize custom canvas painting by KG Interiors hangs over the window for light control and can easily be removed if needed.

I love thinking outside the box, using materials in a different ways then originally made for. I applied a twine basket weave carpet to the wall which gave the background lots of texture.

I created wainscoting on the bottom portion of the wall out of two old solid wood doors
which was the perfect balance to the basket weave.
I sawed the doors in half and finished them off with some custom trim.

From Out-Dated to Up-Dated

These Client’s/ Good Friends were in need of some design inspiration.
Since they are pretty crafty they wanted me to design the space and they would do all the work.
They still need to put some finishing touches on the space,
however the space looks absolutely amazing so far.
Very proud of them!
